Methods
1-800-Flowers delivers
gifts in one of two ways. You can verify which delivery
method will be used for your order during the checkout
process.
- Florist Delivery
Floral
and plant gifts marked as Florist
Designed are hand-delivered by a
1-800-FLOWERS store or another florist in your local
area.
- Normal delivery hours for a florist are between
9:00 AM and 7:00 PM.
- Same Day Delivery is available
with Florist Delivery (during non-holiday
times)
- Monday through Friday: can be
delivered the same day if placed before 2:00 PM in
the recipient's time zone.
- Saturday: can be delivered
same day if placed before 12:30 PM in the
recipient's time zone.
- Sunday: can be delivered same
day if placed before 11:30 AM in the recipient's
time zone.
- Delivery by a Parcel
Carrier
Floral and plant gifts marked
as Fresh From the Growers and most
other items, including gift baskets, food gifts, and
collectibles, are delivered by a carrier such as UPS,
FedEx, or the United States Postal Service.
- Items delivered by a carrier cannot be sent
same-day or on Sundays.
Packaging
Information
Gifts you send will be
packaged differently depending on how they're
delivered:
- Florist
Delivery
Florist
Designed floral gifts will arrive expertly
arranged in a complimentary glass vase. A
complimentary gift card will be inserted among the
flowers.
- Delivery by a Parcel
Carrier
Items shipped by a carrier,
including Fresh From the Growers
flowers, will generally come packaged in a box. (If a
vase is ordered, it will be carefully and separately
packaged in the same box as the flowers). Your
complimentary card message will be included in a
plastic sleeve affixed to the outside of the
box:

The
Federal Express and UPS shipping labels will have the
following information.

- The return address showing 1-800-Flowers as
the shipper.
- The 1-800-Flowers customer service phone
number listed just below the return address.
- The sender's order number and our product code
for the selected gift.
- The Federal Express or UPS tracking
number.
Substitution
Policy
While a rare occurrence,
there are times when substitution is required for items
delivered by a florist. To make our Substitution Policy
simple, they follow these important steps: Get it There on
Time, and Make it Fresh and Beautiful.
- Get it There on Time
- Products from 1-800-Flowers are fun and
unique. If they are out of a particular item or
decorative element, i.e. a specific basket, vase,
plush, tin, etc., they may substitute a similar item
or element of equal or greater value to ensure your
gift arrives on time. In making substitutions, they take great care and consideration in finding gifts
that will meet or exceed the expectations of both
the gift giver and recipient.
- And remember, in cases where substitutions are
made, the 100% Guarantee always applies.
- Make it Fresh and
Beautiful
- They select the most creative florists to be on
the team, who professionally recreate our designs
based on their creative interpretation. The "look
and feel" of the arrangements featured will remain
the same, with the florists paying careful attention
to overall shape, size, style, and color
combinations.
- The floral arrangements contain only the
freshest flowers, and so substitutions may be made
depending on seasonal and regional
availability.
- In single-variety arrangements only, variety
will take preference over color. For instance, if a
florist is out of "yellow tulips," they will
substitute another color of tulips, not another
yellow flower.
- In extremely warm weather, a chocolate item may
be substituted within a tower, basket or sampler so
that the highest quality edibles are delivered to
your recipient.

Delivery
Restrictions
- Items shipped by a Carrier such as FedEx, UPS, or
the US Postal Service cannot be delivered to Funeral
Homes, Hospitals, or Rural Routes.
- Due to many schools' security regulations,
delivery to schools cannot be guaranteed.
- Due to hospital restrictions, floral and plant
deliveries cannot be made to any special care units,
including ICU and CCU.
- Due to agricultural restrictions, floral and plant
items shipped by a Carrier such as FedEx, UPS, or the
US Postal Service are not available for Saturday
delivery in the states of Arizona and
California.
- Due to state regulations, they are unable to ship
wine to/within certain states. Please read our FAQ's
About Wine for further information.
Peak Holiday
Times
The floral and gift business
experiences an increased volume of orders during major
holiday periods, such as Halloween, Thanksgiving,
Christmas, Valentine's Day, and Mother's Day. While they ordinarily can guarantee delivery on the exact date you
choose for delivery, the high volume of orders they handle
during major holidays prevents us from guaranteeing
delivery during those weeks. During these times, they may
ask you during checkout to select alternate delivery
dates in the event they cannot meet your originally
requested date. Please keep this in mind when placing
all your holiday orders.
